Roads & Stream Crossings in Whatcom County
This project was divided into three sections: Part A involved analyzing the flowrate at various streamgage stations along the forks of the Nooksack River in Whatcom County, Washington. Part B involved using ArcGIS Pro Modelbuilder to create a modular and reusable tool to analyze attributes of public roads and streams in the many watersheds of Whatcom County. Part C involved using that tool to create maps displaying road/stream crossing density in each watershed, as well as the total mileage of roads and streams in each watershed. The main takeaways from this project were data management, data pre-processing, using Modelbuilder, and calculating and symbolizing statistics from interacting datasets. Map layouts from Parts A & C are visible below, as well as a screenshot of the analysis model - a messy, but functional first foray into automated geospatial analysis using a custom built tool, rather than manually proceeding step by step as we had in the past.
